Everything works as it should.
This car has just had a full respray (except lower plastic trims) and as such is completely free of scratches, dinks, dents, stone-chips.There is no rust on the body of this car.
The underside is freshly stone-guarded; all exposed suspension and steering components have been rubbed back and coated with satin black rust-proofing paint.
The interior is in very good condition indeed. There is a TINY amount of fraying just beginning to show on the driver's side bolster (nowhere near worn through) but I am including a piece of the correct Mercedes cloth material in the event that
in the end this should wear through it would be a simple and cheap task for an upholteror to renew this.
Current mileage is 102K miles.
13 Stamps in the service book to 75,193 miles. The car was then apparently owned by the owner of a high-end/limosine rental company and serviced in-house and used as his 'weekend' car only.
Drives superbly, very quiet engine and no nasty knocks or creaks.
These cars although expensive when new are superbly made, researched and engineered; simple cars which are a joy to drive, easy and cheap to maintain with an abundance of parts available.
They have a strong following and prices (for good ones!) are now rapidly rising.

BBC TV's Top Gear programme pronounced their 190 "The Best Used Car You Can Buy" :
"Stuttgart's first ever compact model really does make a great deal of sense on the second-hand market, no matter what your budget. If you thought a Mercedes was a little large and a touch expensive for your modest needs, then a used 190 provides the perfect solution. Safety is a recent obsession for most manufacturers but not for Mercedes. Hence the fact that even the earliest 190s have seat belt pre-tensioners, double-skinned pillars, anti-burst locks and crumple zones. Later models were fitted with anti-lock brakes (1991) and drivers airbags (1992). The 190 was one of Stuttgart's most successful models ever so there are plenty to choose from. Some garages specialise in stocking immaculately maintained older examples as well as late, low-mileage cars. Whichever you decide upon, the build quality is so good that you can buy with confidence.

Take one out on the road and you'll find that even elderly examples betray their faultless Mercedes-Benz heritage. Every switch and stalk performs its function faultlessly. Even the performance rest to sixty in 10.5 seconds on the way to just over 120mph in the case of a 190E
Mercedes means prestige and quality. Other executive saloons lose their looks after just a few years but a 190 will always look and drive the part. If you care for a 190 with regular servicing, it will care for you six figure mileages and rust-free bodies are the norm."

I am only selling this one with some reluctance (it is that nice!) to make way for a future project as I currently own five cars which due to space constraints is too many to then take on another car.
The price may at first seem high but please do not confuse this example with some of the normal 'banger types'.This price is firm and simply represents what this car has cost me in purely financial costs alone notwithstanding the many hours of time and effort that I have personally put into the car.
(If the car is not bought here in the U.K I shall take it to France and register it at our house there for us to use when we are there.)
In summary, this is a beautiful example of a late W201 which is now fully sorted mechanically and cosmetically and ready to be enjoyed or shown.
Full MOT plus 6 Months Road Tax just put on the car.
